PM is driving force behind progress in India – Som Prakash

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a driving force behind policies that empower citizens and foster inclusive development. This is his vision to make India a Viksit Bharat by 2047 but with his leadership and policies, India may achieve this milestone much before.

The Minister was in village Oharpur in Hoshiarpur, today to be part of the Prime Minister’s interaction with some beneficiaries of the flagship schemes of Government of India and address to people joining Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra across India. The Yatra, comprising Vans, is going on in all the districts of Punjab including Hoshiarpur.

A Van having an LED Screen showing PM’s recorded speech on overall progress in the country and stories of beneficiaries, awareness material as pamphlets, calenders and small books, was also there at the venue.

He administered the pledge of  Viksit Bharat to all those present on the occasion and called upon to work together for the overall progress of the country.

In Punjab, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has made remarkable strides in transforming lives and communities. Till today, the Yatra has covered about 1300 Gram Panchayats (GPs) having over 1.25 lakh people participation. Interestingly the number of women is more than men in attending the Viksit Bharat programme which is empowering individuals from all walks of life.

Som Parkash advocates and elaborated on Drone scheme which would empower women self help groups also besides spraying nano fertilizers in fields in balanced proportion in much less money as compared to old practice. He even tried his hands to fly Drone in a nearby field.

He said the Yatra is an integral part of the Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat campaign that embodies the Central government’s commitment to reach out to the last man standing to provide benefits to all the eligible population of the country. He said that over 1.50 crore people of Punjab have been benefited under Pradhan Mantri Grib Kalyan Anna Yojna and over 4 crore people have taken the benefit under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.

Meanwhile, some beneficiaries of PM Kissan Nidhi Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna narrated their stories of comfort as ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ after getting benefits under these schemes. The Minister interacted with some of them and also handed over Ujjwala connection to beneficiaries. In the state, over 4000 such beneficiaries have shared their experiences as of now.

Many central government departments had put up stalls there to provide on the spot benefits by filling forms and updating Aadhar Card.

The Minister called upon all to take benefits from Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and Vishwakarma Yojna besides many others.

Later, Som Parkash also attended another Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra program at village Rasoolpur also.
