RINKU TAKES UP MATTER OF DELAY IN APPOINTMENTS IN PASSPORT RELATED SERVICES, SEEKS PROMPT SOLUTION

RPO REITERATES COMMITMENT TO IMPART QUALITY SERVICES TO PEOPLE

Jalandhar, June 23 (Aaj Ki Aaj)- Member Parliament Sushil Kumar Rinku on Friday directed the Regional Passport Officer (RPO) Jalandhar to further streamline the process of appointments for passport related services so that applicants can take benefit of these facilities in a smooth and hassle free manner.

The MP visited the Jalandhar Passport Office where he took stock of entire process of granting passport related services. He asked RPO Anoop Singh to resolve the issue of delay in passport appointments which is a major concern among applicants as they have to wait for months to avail these services. He also expressed hope that the process of issuing passports to the residents of the district would be further streamlined as RPO Anoop Singh apprised the MP that concerted efforts were being made to increase appointment quota to lower the pendency.

Interacting with Regional Passport Officer Anoop Singh, the Member Parliament said that since Doaba region was the hub of NRIs so the passport office in Jalandhar has a major role to play.  Mr. Rinku said that it was a  matter of great pride and satisfaction that the passport office has been playing its role well by rendering marvelous service to the people; however coordinated efforts were required to reduce waiting period for passport services.

Mr. Rinku asked the RPO to further evolve a transparent, accountable, responsive and people friendly environment to facilitate the applicants in passport office, so that they do not face any problem in getting their works done. He also assured fulsome support and cooperation to the Regional Passport Officer for imparting valuable service to the people efficaciously.

Reiterating the firm commitment of his office for imparting quality service to the people, Regional Passport Officer Anoop Singh said that no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause. He said that the Regional Passport Office caters to need of applicants from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Moga district and Police district Batala adding that every effort would be made to facilitate the people from these districts. He said that people could contact him directly in case of any problem while availing passport services

Meanwhile, he also visited the entire passport office where he also interacted with the staff and applicants and took their valuable feedback with respect to passport related services.
